A. Lorraine Barrett, 81, passed away on September 1, 2014 at her home in Boise, Idaho after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on August 11, 1933 in Nampa, Idaho to William Everett and Susan Alda Fritts.
Lorraine lived in Pismo Beach, California; Parma, Idaho; Apple Valley, Idaho; Caldwell, Idaho; Edgewater, New Jersey; Saddlebrook, New Jersey. She has resided in Boise, Idaho since 1956. She graduated from Caldwell High School in Caldwell, Idaho in 1951. She furthered her education at Boise State University and University of Idaho. Her occupations included Roxie Theatre, Terrace Drive Inn, The Idaho Department of Health, Service Parts Company, Idaho Department of Education (20 years). She was a Board Officer of DSC Graphics, Inc. in Boise and retired from West Junior High in Boise.
Lorraine married Wilfred “Bill” Barrett in May 16, 1952 at Boone Memorial Church in Caldwell, Idaho. They were happily married for 62 years. Lorraine was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Boise Elks, President of Theta Rho Sorority and President of the Idaho Association of Education Office Professionals.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting and she hand cross-stitched beautiful birth announcements for each of her great grandchildren. She made numerous elaborate costumes for her daughters involved in theater and dance for many years. She was her husband’s greatest “groupie”, attending all his games and supporting his love of softball and other sports. She loved football and was an avid Boise State Bronco fan.
Lorraine is survived by her spouse, Wilfred “Bill” Barrett of Boise, Idaho; her children, Susan (Shahin) Sattari and Sondra (Lee) Gunderson, her brother, William Lawrence (Eleanor) Fritts, her grandchildren: Kristen (John) Driskell, Abigayle (Tyrone) Schock, William “Bill” (Dawn) Church, Rebecca Church, Tina Antonucci, and Lisa (Steven) Pixler. Her great grandchildren Alex Church, Tyra Schock, Jessah James, Tatiana Hernandez, Jaida James, Jayden Driskell, Enrique Hernandez, Sean Church, Zoe Pixler and numerous other friends and relatives.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and her sister.

Services are under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. A viewing will be held at Alden-Waggoner, 5400 W. Fairview Ave., Boise, Idaho 83706 on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm with a Vigil Service at 6:00 pm. An additional viewing will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.  The committal service will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
