Jeffrey Lee Woods, 51, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday,
June 4, 2014 at his home in Meridian, Idaho.
Jeff was born March 3, 1963 in Boise, Idaho. He was a three time graduate from Boise State
University earning degrees in: Human Resources, Accounting and Masters of
Accountancy. With each degree he earned Summa
Cum Laude, a 4.0 G.P.A., and was voted the Outstanding Student in his
graduating class by the Boise State Faculty for each of these degrees. Jeff was a member of numerous honoraries and
a Certified Public Accountant.
Upon graduation Jeff started his long and distinguished career.
He was hired by KPMG Peat Marwick in
Dallas, Texas where he audited numerous large corporations. Jeff quickly advanced in his career as he was
brilliant, had a genuine concern for others and a calm demeanor earning him
respect by his employees, co-workers and superiors throughout his career. Jeff
next accepted a position with Lufthansa Sky Chefs in Dallas, Texas as staff
accountant. He was then promoted to Accounting
Manager in Portland, Oregon and then excelled to City Controller in Seattle,
Washington.
Jeff accepted a position with the University of Washington
Capital Projects Office as Accounting Manager with budgets exceeding millions of
dollars. Jeff, wanting to raise his
family in Idaho, returned home accepting a position with Simplot as an Accounting
Manager for the Turf and Horticulture Group.
He next accepted his most rewarding position ever as the Director of
Finance for the Idaho Educational Services for the Deaf and Blind in Gooding,
Idaho. Shortly thereafter he was made
the Director of Human Resources as well.
Jeff also enjoyed being a part-time adjunct Boise State
University Instructor teaching upper level accounting courses on the College of
Southern Idaho campus.
Jeff met the love of his life and best friend CJ Leavitt while
attending church. They married June 19,
1993. Together they had two beautiful children.
Jeff and CJ taught Sunday school together for years at various churches in the
different cities they lived in. He loved
his family and spending time with them. Jeff
treasured every moment he spent with his devoted and loving wife. He cherished his daughters and they adored
him. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting with
his beloved brothers and quiet visits with his dear mother. He was also an avid
fisherman, golfer, cyclist and also enjoyed skiing, hiking and photography.
To know Jeff was to love him and he will be greatly missed
by all.
Surviving are his wife, CJ Woods; children, Jordankaty Woods
and Joan Woods; mother, Jean Frahm Woods; brothers, Nick Woods and Karl Woods;
nephews and nieces, Noah Woods, Elise Woods, Holden Woods, and Tova Woods. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles
and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his father, Lonnie Lee Woods.
The family of Jeff Woods would like to thank all their
friends and relatives for the incredible outpouring of love during Jeff’s long
and courageous battle.
Also the Woods Family would like to thank the doctors, nurses
and medical personnel at University of Utah Health Care Hospital, the U of UT
Clinical Neurosciences Center, the Huntsman Cancer Institute, MSTI, Sawtooth
Infectious Disease Center, Critical Care Home Health, the Elks Wound Center and
Hearts for Hospice for the excellent and loving attention, kindness and respect
he received while in their care.
A Trust Fund has been set up for Jordankaty and Joan in care
of Jeffrey Lee Woods Memorial Fund at Chase Bank. Contributions can be made at any branch.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June
14 at Meridian Assembly of God at 1830 N. Linder Road in Meridian with Pastor
Ed Kreiner officiating. Internment will
be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14 at Shoshone Cemetery, Shoshone, Idaho. A viewing will be held and all are welcome
with the family greeting the evening before from 6 to 8 p.m. at Alden-Waggoner
Funeral Chapel in Boise.
