Agnes May Schwarzhoff, 94, of Boise, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013
at her home of natural causes. Funeral
services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at Wright Community
Congregational Church, with burial following at Morris Hill Cemetery.
Agnes was born January 9, 1919, in Boise, Idaho, to Charles Joseph
and Mary Etta Moss Foster in a little house in Boise at the old Baxter’s
Foundry. She was raised and educated in
Boise. She attended school at Franklin
School from grades 1 through 12. She
spent a considerable amount of time with her grandparents in Murphy, Idaho
during these years.
She married Jerry Schwarzhoff on July 3, 1938, and together they
lived in Boise, Gooding, Las Vegas and Coeur d’Alene. She was a homemaker but very much enjoyed
time as a wedding hostess at the Wright Community Congregational Church and in
Las Vegas at the Little Chapel of the West.
She
enjoyed dancing and playing cards with friends and family. Agnes was a member of the Kings Daughters and
Wright Community Congregational Church. While raising their two sons, she spent
many weekends at Lowman, camping and fishing.
One time she chased a bear away from their cabin with a fry pan while
Jerry and the boys were out fishing. She
and Jerry spent time in their RV camping and spending winters in Arizona and
other southern areas. She liked to get friends and family together and go to
the beautiful hills of Idaho and camp, fish and play cards at night (sometimes
keeping the whole campground awake until all hours). She loved the many cruises they took to the
Caribbean.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; sons, Chris (Lois)
Schwarzhoff of Boise, Dale (Annie) Schwarzhoff of Napa, CA; grandchildren, Bob,
Jay (Carolyn), Loren (Karen), Lynn (Mark Hamilton), Scott (Kim), and Kelly
(Amanda) Schwarzhoff; and great-grandchildren, Halle, Mia, Will, Claire and
Dean Schwarzhoff. She was preceded in
death by her parents and four brothers (Fred, Henry, Ed and Jim).
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Wright
Community Congregational Church, Boise or your favorite charity.
