Aileen Marie Paulson died Sunday, June 7th, 2015 at the
young age of 95.
Born in Weiser, Idaho to Claude Allen and Edith Sater
Allen. She had an older sister named
Maxine.
Aileen was very much like her father. Both with a passion for music and
business. He was a singer and she played
the violin. She often spent her time
helping him run his Variety Store. After
graduating high school, Aileen went on to attend Boise Business College. During which time she worked for the WPA
Administrative Office. Also pursuing her
music, Al played the violin in several groups.
Including a girls dance orchestra and the Philharmonic. Also a philanthropist, she donated much of
her time to the Booth Memorial.
Aileen very much enjoyed the outdoors. Once while riding a stubborn horse that
wouldn't budge, a man named Ralph Paulson came along side her to assist. He was able to move the horse along, and win
her heart while doing so. They were
married Aug. 31, 1941. Together they had
many adventures, including searching the West for precious rocks and
stones. Eventually they would adopt a
son, Ronald, and have a son named Richard.
They always had a dog named Sam.
Following her entrepreneurial roots, Aileen began a small
operation out of her basement, making rubber stamps. This would grow in to a business too large
for her to handle on her own. So Ralph
quit his job to help her. It would be
called ABC Stamp Company, and would eventually be purchased by her son Richard
and daughter-in-law Ann, who run the company today.
Richard and his wife Ann gave Aileen two grandchildren, Gabe
and MacKenzie, whom adored her. She was
a wonderful mother, wife, grammy, and all around human. To know Aileen was to be blessed.
As Aileen said in her High School yearbook, "Get 'em
young and treat 'em rough!" Words we can all live by.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to
Booth Memorial in her name.
