Rahn, beloved Husband,
Father, and Grandfather (Grampy) passed away on January 28
, 2014 at the age of 90.
Jim married
Carolyn V. "Lynn" Schmidt on May 30
,
1952
,
in Salome
,
Arizona
.
Together
they had three daughters: Tricia, Judy, and Jill.
Jim served
in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he was stationed in Australia and
the Philippines. In 1948, Jim began his 40 year career as a union Ironworker,
retiring in 1988. In 1969, Jim and Lynn became co-chairs of the Girl Scout Camp

For
nine years they recru
i
ted parent volunteers and worked tirelessly maintaining the Girl
Scout Camp facilities
,
building new structures, as well as renovating old structures
,
and a multitude of other
projects. The Rahns donated countless hours each year to this project, even
celebrating a wedding anniversary surrounded by other volunteers during a work
weekend at camp. The camp has been used and enjoyed by thousands of Girl Scouts
over the years, and the structures they built are still being used today!
Jim loved to
spend time with his family, especially the camping and fishing trips to Sagehen
Reservoir
.
Jim's greatest
j
oy in life was spending
time with his six grandchildren that he cherished and loved.
He is
survived by h

s three daughters:
Tricia (John) Trofast, Judy (Jerry) McConnell, and Jill Milford; along with six
grandchildren: Crista
,
Erica, Demitria, and Kassandra Milford; and Jeffrey and Jennifer
McConnell all of Boise; and his special sisters: Wilma Lee and Ruth Lazalier of
CA
.
He was
preceded

n death by his wife Lynn
,
parents Ruth and Albert
Rahn, his brothers Donald Rahn and Robert Rahn
,
his grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.
