Alberta Sload,
93, of Meridian, died on November 29, 2012 at a local hospital.
Alberta was born
on March 4, 1919 in Sheridan, Wyoming to John Cleaveland Beebe and Marjorie
Douglas. She grew up and graduated from
Mount Tamalpais High School in Marin County California, 1937. After graduation she continued schooling and
became a member of Kappa Delta at U.C. Berkley until 1940, later graduating
from George Washington University with a B.S. Economics degree in 1941. That same year she married Philip Henry Sload
in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Throughout her
life she resided in Wyoming, California, Virginia, Maryland, Hawaii and Idaho.
Alberta is
survived by her daughters, Marjorie Catherine Sload King (David), Suzanne Sload
and Patricia Sload Novotny; grandchildren Corby King Clark, Whitney King Hyans,
Philip King, Bryan King, Griffin Cottle, Mackenzie Cottle, Sarah Cottle, and
Carson Novotny; great-grandchildren, Hunter Clark, Max Clark, Sam Clark, Parker
King, and Charley Hyans. Alberta had a
special love for David King, her son-in-law for 47 years, and great love for
David Cottle, Gary Clark, Steve Hyans, David O’Berto, Cameron Cerone, Tom
Novotny, and Rob Nutt.
She was preceded
in death by her husband, Philip Henry Sload and son, Philip Cleaveland Sload.
