Alfred Ross Goodro, Jr.

Alfred Ross Goodro, Jr. (Al) passed away April 24, 2024, peacefully in his sleep after a short battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his girls. Al was born September 18, 1957, to Alfred Ross Goodro Sr. and Leathal Goodro (Sanford) in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska.

Al was the middle child of seven and was raised by his father after his mother passed. His father remarried and two additional brothers were born from that union. His stepmother, Roxanne helped raise them all as her own. She continues to hold a special place in her heart for him. He lived most of his childhood in Idaho, Wyoming and Nebraska.

Al worked most of his life in construction, but his true love was the outdoors. He spent most of his life hunting and fishing with his brother, Randy. They were inseparable in their adventures and shenanigans. I know those two are fishing together right now! He always enjoyed a cold beer and “tinkering” in the garage.

He had two daughters, two granddaughters and two grandsons. Al always doted on his girls and tried to make men of the boys. He was truly the last of a dying breed of “Good Ol’ Boys”.

Al was always the type of guy with a wrench in one hand and beer in the other. The kind of guy you can call when you need a friend and some help. There wasn’t anything that man couldn’t do or fix, might be the redneck way but he got er done. He wasn’t afraid to say it like he saw it. Thank you for raising me to be a man, dad… even though I’m your daughter.

Al is proceeded in death by his parents, Alfred and Leathal. His siblings, Steven, Linda, Wayne, Randy, Caline… and his favorite dog, Milo. His is survived by his daughters, Alison and Fawn, his grandchildren, Jadyn, Braden, Leo and Shaelynn. His stepmother, Roxanne and brothers, Greg, Dale and Ross. Countless nieces and nephews but with honorable mention to Carey and Amber. Additionally, some of the best friends a guy could ask for at “the park”.

“I hate rude behavior in a man, won’t tolerate it.” -Lonesome Dove

“A job isn’t done until it’s done right.”

“No hats at the dinner table.”

“Eat it, it will put hair on your chest.”

“Girl, FOCUS!”
