Bud was bo

n to Scott Dean Deyo and Harriet Rathjen Deyo on February 3,
1923, in East Orange
,
New Jersey
.
The Deyos were descendents of F
r
ench
Huguenots who came to America for religious freedom
.
In the
early 1600's they purchased land from the Indians and settled in New Paltz,
N.Y. The group was composed of sixteen families
.
Their
homes all still have their original foundations, and have been beaut
i
fully r
e
stored
over the years
.

At a young age, Bud was walking through th
e
n
e
arby
woods at night when he was overwhelmed by the love of God who gave His Son,
Jesus, for him, and for the sins of the world. He gave his heart to the Lord on
that day and

erved Him
a
ll his life.
Bud graduated from East Orange High School in 1941 and then
entered the trade school at General El
ec
tric.
He th

Army Air Corps where he served as a
medic,

ary hospita
l

After he completed his tenure there, he enrolled in Nyack
College, a Christian college
i
n Nyack, N.Y
.
Bud
then enrolled at BIOLA School of Missionary Medicine in Los Angeles,
California, planning to go to French West Africa. However, he could not pass
the physical exam as the humid climate in West Africa would have made his
r
espiratory
problems worse
.
While working as a Journeyman Machinis
t
in the
LA area he became associated w
i
th Child Evangelism Fellowship.
Taking summers off from his employment, he served a
s
C
l
inic
Nurse in the children
'
s clinic at "Camp Good News" in Fullerton, California.
The child
r
en lovingly called him "Dr
.
Bud."
During
this time Bud met Mable Ruth Davis and they ma
r
ried on
December 28, 1956. They had two wonderful chi
l
dren,
Al
l
en Jr
.
and Melissa Ruth.
During the ensuing years they lived in California, Wa
s
hington
,
and
Oregon before finally settling in Boise
.
Bud was a member of Cole Community Church and also worked in the
church and Cole Christian Schools as custodian, and served in other ways, also.
He was a board member of Idaho State Child Evangelism.
One of the highlights of Bud's life was playing his violin at
Carnegie Hall with his college orchestra in the World Congress of Bands. He was
a kind, gentle man who served his Lord and loved his family all his life.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister
and a nephew
.
He is survived by his wife Mable; son Allen (June); daughter
Melissa (Brad) McLaughlin; four grandchildren, Mandy, Ashley, Christina, and
Jordan; three sisters, Harriet Oestherle, of NJ, Gloria Osborne of NC, and Joy
Woollett of NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel,
5400 Fairview Ave, Boise, on Monday, November 21, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor
Jackson Cramer officiating. A reception
will be held following the funeral service at Cole Community Church, 8775
Ustick Rd, Boise. Friends are welcome to attend. Private burial will be at the
Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
