Angelina
"Ann" Alleman, 87, of Meridian, died Sunday, November 29, 2015, at
her home of natural causes.
Angelina was born
November 17, 1928, in Veteran, Wyoming, to Andrew and Stella Fillis. Her father died when she was nine years old, leaving
her mother to raise seven kids by herself, the youngest of which was
twenty-seven days old. Her mother worked
hard to keep the family together, at times holding down three jobs at once. Angelina carried this work ethic throughout
her life.
Angelina married
Vern Alleman on November 29, 1947 and died on what would have been their 68th
anniversary. Vern died June 13, 2015.
Angelina taught
school for a couple years and then was a bookkeeper the rest of her working
career. She knitted, crocheted, and
quilted, making many beautiful gifts for her family and friends. She greatly enjoyed the holidays when the
whole family gathered around the dinner table.
Angelina was
preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marge, and brother, John. She is survived by her sons, Glen and Duane
of Meridian, ID; a grandson, LuCas (Amy)
and his family of Star, ID; sister, Dorothy Brening; brothers, Jim Fillis of
Bridgeport, NE, Bill Fillis of Blair, NE and Andy Fillis of California; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and
extended family and friends.
A committal service
will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at the Idaho State
Veterans Cemetery, Boise, ID, under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral
Chapel.
