Anna (Ann) Elizabeth Brock Hyder

Anna (Ann) Elizabeth Brock Hyder

Anna (Ann) passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at her home in the loving care of her daughters. She was born on November 25, 1921 in Lawson, MO to Joe and Cassie Brock, the oldest of 9 children.  She graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1939.  She married John (Jack) S. Hyder on January 20, 1940 in Liberty, MO.  They moved to Idaho in 1948 with their children Ann, Dick and Mike.  They later expanded their family to include two more children Patty and Jay.  Ann held several jobs during her life but her favorite was working for St. Luke’s RMC for 17 years in the Housekeeping Department.  She was the Director of Housekeeping at the time of her retirement in 1986.
Mom
A Mother’s love is one of a kind
It has the power to make everything fine
More than fine, their love is the best
Well sadly ours has gone to her rest
She was the rock of our family there is no doubt
She was the steady hand, always stout
We all think our Mother is second to none
Seriously if it was a contest, we’d have won
Nothing against any other,
We were just blessed with a very special Mother
Almost 92 and still living alone
When you stopped by you knew you were at home
She raised us right and with a firm hand
Taught us to be fair and when to take a stand
From a little town in Missouri she came
Two daughters and three sons shared her last name
Several grand and great grand children got to feel her love
Grammie Annie now watches them from above
Many enjoyed waffles from her secret recipe
No doubt it will carry on as part of her great legacy
She will be missed and there will always be an empty space
There are just some things this world cannot replace
The warmth of a Mother’s smiling face
Her beauty, humility and her grace
We are better off for being raised under her watchful care
It didn’t take long to learn the difference in her glance or glare
We will miss you dearly and we hope time will help us heal
It is so hard to think that the end is finally real
Say hi to Dad, you have been apart too long
We love you and miss you Ann, Grammie and Mom
