Anna Marie Anderson, known best as Ann, passed away in Boise
on Friday, March 24, 2017.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 28 at
Covenant Presbyterian Church,
4848
N Five Mile Rd, Boise, ID 83713. A reception will follow the service. Burial will
be at Dry creek Cemetery.
Services are
under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
Ann was born on
April 21, 1933 in Nampa, Idaho as the second daughter of Everett and Mildred
Campbell.
She was raised in Bellevue and
attended Bellevue High School where she was student body President and a member
of the girls’ basketball team.
Ann continued
her education at Idaho State University, followed by The University of Idaho
where she was a proud member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
While in Boise working at
Idaho Power as an Executive Assistant, Ann met the love of her life, Virgil
Dean Anderson on a blind date.
They
married in April 1965 and were blessed
with five
children – Linda Irwin, Susan Perlow, Pam Anderson Humphrey, Kim Anderson and
Debbie Mooney. In 1967 Ann and Virgil went into the laundry and dry cleaning
business and bought McRae’s Cleaners, which they owned for nearly 20 years.
Ann and Virgil
spent much of their life traveling. They enjoyed camping in Idaho’s forests,
exploring the sites in Europe, enjoying the beauty of Alaska and spent many
hours on their boat cruising from Anacortes into Canada. One of the true joys
of her life was traveling with her children and grandchildren on family
vacations in Mexico.
Ann was a
devoted wife, and mother. She and her husband, Virgil, were married for 36 ½
years.
Ann was
involved in many volunteer activities throughout the community including the
Assistance League of Boise and Soroptimist International. She was a member of
Covenant Presbyterian Church and loved participating in bible study and
numerous church activities. She enjoyed the time she spent with friends,
playing bridge, golfing and traveling with good friends Judy Mendiola and Anne
Rogers.
Ann is preceded
in death by her beloved husband, Virgil, father and mother, Everett and Mildred
Campbell, sister, Catherine Lindsay, and daughter, Linda Irwin.
She is survived
by her loving children, Susan Perlow, grandson Brian and his wife Amy of
Canton, Ohio; granddaughter, Caren Perry and her husband John of Phoenix,
Arizona; granddaughter Katey Anderson and her husband Russell of Meridian; Daughter
Pam Anderson Humphrey and her husband Ray of Meridian, and two granddaughters Veronica
Adams, husband Chuck, and Allison Loven, husband Lamar; Son Kim Anderson, his
wife Tracy, and grandson, Erin; Daughter Debbie Mooney, her husband Jeff of Boise,
and two granddaughters Kristin Dascenzo, husband Devin, and Erin, plus 11 great
grandchildren.
Ann is also
survived by her brother, Jim Campbell of Wendell and his wife Lucil
e, brother-in-law Kent Anderson, his wife Shirley of Rigby, plus
numerous nieces and nephews.
