Arnet R. Bates passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 at home in Boise, Idaho of natural causes.
Arnet was born on June 4, 1928 to Clyde and Josie Bates. The family moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1942. In 1962 Arnet moved to Boise, Idaho where he was in the radio business and started Senior Citizens Insurance Agency. As Arnet always said, later in life he found the love and companionship that he had been searching for all of his life, when he married his wife, Pearl.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest son, Bruce. He is survived by his wife, Pearl; his daughter, Liane; his son, Bill; and step-sons, Charles and Robert Vaughan.
At Arnet’s request there will be a simple graveside service with military honors, at Morris Hill Cemetery, on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
Friends may call at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Friday, May 6, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Boise Elks Lodge, #310.
