Austin lost his
battle with Melanoma Cancer the morning of September 25, 2014.
He was surrounded
by loved ones, there to share in the final moments of his journey.
In his 25 years,
Austin had accomplished so much. Having graduated from Borah High School,
followed by the University of Idaho, Austin applied for and obtained an
executive position at Lamb Weston in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Austin always
enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, time spent at his
family cabin, and so many wild adventures including skydiving on his eighteenth
birthday. Life was his oyster, but all too soon was it taken away from him.
His loving
parents Michael and Ann Horejs always stood by him, helping him through every
step of this last troubled year.
Austin leaves his
parents, Michael and Ann, his brother Andrew, grandparents Verl and Betty
Boyack, grandmother Martha Burroughs, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces,
nephews, and of course friends.
Along with all
the loved ones that stood by Austin’s side through his battle, much thanks must
be paid to the countless care givers, nurses, and doctors who showed him so
much love and compassion throughout the year.
A celebration of
Austin’s life will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2014. The memorial
service will begin at 1:00pm at the Alden-Waggoner Chapel at 5400 W Fairview
Ave, Boise, Idaho.
The service will
be followed by a celebration of his life at the Eagles Lodge at 7025 W Overland
Rd, Boise, Idaho.
In lieu of
flowers, the family requests that supporters donate to the Angeles Clinic and
Research Institute. This institute works hard to find new remedies for treating
cancer as well as hoping to one day find a cure. The work done there was
critical in extending Austin’s own battle with the disease. Donations can be
made on the institute’s website at http://theangelesclinicfoundation.org/donate/.
So please join
family and friends to celebrate the life of Austin Horejs on October 11. He was
a Brave Heart and we will always remember him for the relentless fighter he
was. His strength and courage is a constant inspiration to all who knew him. He
will forever be remembered for being AUSTINSTRONG.
John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world
gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
