Barbara I (Barb) Weitensteiner died March 27
th
2014 surrounded by her family. Barb was born October 1
st
1924 in
Minneapolis, MN to William C. and Gladys I. Toben. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War
II.
Barb enjoyed her varied life challenges in high school,
college, Navy Hospital Corp., and as an auditor and reservation specialist at
Northwest Airlines, travel agent, tutor in the Boise School District, and as a
volunteer for CASA. Most especially she
enjoyed being the wife of Bill Weitensteiner and mother to five children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents
and brother W.C. (Bill) Toben. Surviving
relatives are her children and their spouses, Anne and Ed Franks, Paul and
Ariel Weitensteiner, Dr. Beth Weitensteiner, John and Jeannette Weitensteiner,
Jean Weitensteiner; her 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother-in-law
Rev. Joseph M Weitensteiner of Spokane, and her “adopted” family Tami and Mark
Masarik.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church,
7960 W. Northview St., on Monday, March 31
st
at 11:00AM preceded by
a Rosary the evening of Sunday, March 30
th
at 7:00PM also at St.
Mark’s. Arrangements are under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel,
Boise.
