Bernice Elizabeth Shearer passed away on May 26 due to natural causes at a local care center.  Bernice was born on October 30, 1931 to James and Myrtle Adcock.  Bernice lived in Boise and went to Boise High School.  Bernice married Fred Shearer Jr. on August 21, 1950.  Bernice and Fred had three children, Donald, Diane, and Irene. Bernice worked raising her children, and later cared for all of her grandchildren off and on throughout her life.  Bernice enjoyed caring for children, crocheting, gardening, camping, and doing crossword puzzles and word searches.  She was a very talented crafter.  Bernice had a ready sense of humor and a generous nature.  She opened her home time and again to help various family members.  She was a great supporter of Don’s softball teams and a willing babysitter for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Bernice is survived by her brother Frank and his wife Donna Adcock, her son Don, grandchildren Bill (Ali) Shearer, Mike (Juanita) Bower, DeAndra (Jim) Everist, Scott (Danica) Bower, and Jayme (Leif) Bowman; many great-grandchildren, and aunt Geraldine Tomlinson, and cousin Brenda Anderson, all living in the Boise area.  Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Fred, daughters Diane Bower and Irene Shearer, daughter-in-law Wanda Shearer, grandson Corey Shearer, and her parents.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bernice’s name to Mountain States Tumor Institute. A graveside inurnment service will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at Cloverdale Cemetery, Boise. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise.
