Bette Mae Drummond Kindall

1931 -2015

Bette Kindall, 83 went home to be with the Lord on March 17, 2015 at Life Care Center of Treasure Valley.  Bette was born on July 2, 1930 to Albert and Caroline Drummond, the youngest of their 13 children.  She married Harold Kindall in 1949 and in 1955 moved to Boise where they raised their four children.

Bette was an excellent student and graduated from Malta High School in 1949 and began work as a Stenographer for Phillips County Courthouse in Malta, Montana working until she retired to begin a family.   Her daughter Kathy was born in 1951 and Connie in 1952. In Boise Terry was born in 1957 and Tom came later in 1967.

Bette was a homemaker, excellent cook and seamstress.  One of her greatest joys was reading and studying God’s Word.  She wore out many a Bible.  Her life revolved around her church family and serving in many different capacities  at three Assembly of God Churches,  Garden City Assembly of God (River City Church), Calvary First Assembly and Hillcrest Trinity Assembly of God.  She was an original member of Singing Mothers, a group of women and eventually husbands that faithfully sang at various Treasure Valley nursing homes for 45 years.   She also served with Harold in MAPS, an extended missions program of the Assemblies of God helping repair and build Assembly of God churches all over southern Idaho.  During her life, Bette was able to take many trips, including family vacations all over  the Western States, several trips south to visit her oldest daughter, two tours to Israel and a trip to England and Scotland, where her family was originally from.  After Harold’s retirement, for many years they traveled to  Quartzsite, Arizona joining many other RVers and attending special services at Snowbird Assembly of God.  Dad said those were some of their best years.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents and twelve siblings.  She is  survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Harold Kindall, children, Kathy (Tom) Henderson; Connie (Paul) Smith; Terry Kindall and Tom (Julie) Kindall.
Grandchildren,  Michael and Mark Henderson; Angela Colburn, Nicole (Scott) Rainsberry, Jackie Thacker;  Austin Kindall; and Drew and Derek Kindall.  Step grandchildren, Heidi Smith; Brenna  Russell and Jessica and Melissa Smith.  Great Grandchildren, Taylor Peterson, Morgan and Emma Colburn; Kaleb, Lucas, Chloe and Gracie Mei Rainsberry; Bailey, Olivia and Isaac Thacker and Jared Snyder.  Nieces, Darleen Drummond Henderson, Donna Ellen Araiza and Lynda Drummond.

The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center of Treasure Valley for providing excellent care of Bette this last year and First Choice Hospice who guided us these last few weeks.  Bette’s greatest desire in life was to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ, that all who would believe in him should not have to perish but have life everlasting.
Mom we shall see you again someday.
