Betty (Meyers) Moore, 99 of Boise died peacefully,
Saturday, May 26 2018 in Boise.
Her
lively personality and generous spirit will be missed.
Betty was born in Taloga, Oklahoma on April 15,
1919.
She spent her young years in
Thomas, Oklahoma.
On July 16, 1937 Betty
married Chester O. Moore in Arapaho, Oklahoma.
In 1946 the family with three young children, (Arlene, Jerry and Leon)
moved to Boise, Idaho.
Betty raised a
beautiful family in Boise and was a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother.
Chester and Betty operated or were involved in several
restaurants/fast food establishments over the years, beginning in 1958.
They were 2 Boys in n Out, 2 Boys Inn,
Charlois (Ontario), Plaza Inn (Ontario), Viking Drive In, Westside Drive In, Ice
Cream Palace, Palladium Palace, Mr. Pickwick’s (Nampa), and Burger Time.
Betty touched the lives of many by being a prayer
warrior and mentor.
She opened her home
to foreign exchange students and consistently had a crowd of many around her
holiday tables.
She took great pride in
being a servant to mankind.
Her laugh
and vivacious outlook on life were her trademarks.
Betty was the last surviving charter member of Central
Assembly Christian Life Center now CityHope Church.
In Betty’s own words “I have always been a gregarious
and lively soul.
I have been known for
my quick wit, engaging smile and spirit to serve others.
I am a strong Christian believing woman.
I have spent a lifetime serving others with a
generous soul.
I am meticulous,
organized, smart and friendly.
I have
lived by Proverbs 31 and II Timothy 1:7 has been my strength.
I have led many people to Christ and I have
served unabashedly.
I love the human
spirit….family, church friends, employees and neighbors.
I have never met a stranger.”
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Chester in
2005, her daughter, Arlene in 2008, her brothers, John Meyers, George Meyers
aka GG, and her sister,
Joanna Meyers
aka Jodie.
Her family includes her two
sons, Jerry Moore, Boise and Leon Moore, Florida;
her ten grandchildren, (Arlene’s children,
Dwight and Maria Wayne, Traci and Michael Johnston, and Jackie Sue Powell),
(Jerry’s children, Robyn Moore Shea, Jeremy Moore, Travis and Shana Moore, and
Julie Moore), and (Leon’s children, Heather Moore Colwill, Chris and Rebecca
Rescigno, and Andrea Moore).
She was a
fortunate woman to bless the lives of her eleven great grandchildren:
Nicholas Gunderson, Nathan Gunderson, Lexi Shea, Josie
Shea, Aspyn Moore, Olivia Moore, Simone Colwill, Cruz Colwill, Bella Rescigno, Blaze
Rescigno, Brooklyn Rescigno.
The gates of heaven have opened for her arrival.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m.,
Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Terrace Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the
Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
