Beverly Jean Gross (Foley), 74, of Eagle, Idaho passed away on May 31, 2011 of natural causes with her family at her side.
Beverly was born on November 4, 1936 in Vernon, Missouri to Virginia Smith and Robert Foley. Beverly married Rocky Smith and had three children; Sharon, Anita and Ron. Beverly later married James “Jim” Gross and was married for 36 years before Jim lost his battle with cancer in 2003.
Beverly grew up in the Treasure Valley area and in her late teens went to beauty school for a short time to become a “Vidal Sassoon.” Beverly later worked as a cook for the Boise School District for over ten years. She took great pride in her “professional” cooking skills”and would feed any stray that came along with two legs or four. Beverly and Jim ran cattle to the desert with her mother, Virginia and step father, Frank Smith for over fifteen years. It was always said that Beverly could run the ranch from the kitchen sink. Beverly spent her later years at her property in Eagle and loved dancing, gardening and caring for her many animals. Beverly will be dearly missed.
Beverly is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Vandermeer of Boise; Anita Hendricks and husband Rick of Boise; a son, Ron Smith of Boise; five grandchildren, Steven Vandermeer; Nikki Vandermeer; Michelle Elam; Danielle Hall and husband Jeff; and Robert Elam; seven great grandchildren, and half sister, Rosalie Tucker of Bethel, WA.
A graveside inurnment service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 12:30 p.m., at the Dry Creek Cemetery, 9600 Hill Rd, Boise, ID. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Alden Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
