Bill Brewer, former owner of The Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, Meridian, died of natural caused at his home on September 29, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Bill was born and raised in Wilder, Idaho. Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy Submarine Service and was based out of Pearl Harbor. He considered submarine life one of his greatest adventures.

Bill spent his retirement traveling and camping. He spent several weeks each summer in the mountains making friends and enjoying his books. “Papa” often hosted his granddaughter, Gianna Tierney, and took great joy in being able to share his love of the outdoors.
Bill is survived by his wife Joyce and children Dale Brewer, of Meridian, Shelley Hawthorne, of Prescott, Arizona, and Kendall (and Robert) Tierney, of Meridian; and grandchildren Amber (and Gordon) Smith, Britneay Flanery, Andrew (and Stephanie) Brewer, of all Texas, Casie Hawthorne (and Tyler), of Arizona, Sarah (and Graham) Pernell, of Washington, and Gianna Tierney, of Meridian. Bill’s son Eric Brewer died in 2021.
