Bobbie Gene Stedtnitz, 77, was born July 31, 1937 in St.
Francis, Kansas and moved to Idaho at the age of two. He was raised by his grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Lanfear. Bobbie lived in the
Caldwell/Middleton area and attended schools in both places. He joined the Air Force and served in Korea.
Following his discharge he returned to Idaho where he started working at a
local skating rink. In May 1959, he met
the love of his life, Patricia I. Conant at the skating rink. The couple was married December 27, 1959 in
Phillipsburg, Kansas.
Bobbie went to work for Browning Truck Line for over twenty
years. He also worked for a short time
at Pacific Upholstery, than worked for CCX Trucking in Nampa. He also worked for St. Luke's and St. Al's
pulling medical equipment, and his last job was part time for BSU in trucking
school.
He attended BSU for Small Engine Repair. He was on the Dean’s list at the Vo-tech
School and ran a small engine repair shop out of his home.
Bobbie was an active member of Sacred Heart Church since the
early 1960's.
He enjoyed working as a volunteer at St. Vincent
DePaul. He also served as an usher at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years.
He was a courageous man and walked his wife through a year
of cancer treatment.
Bobbie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia J.
Stedtnitz; his brother -in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Barnett;
his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Al (Berncil) and Dawn Conant; his very
special grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Tucker, Joshua Tucker, and Holli
Tucker; his children, Martin Stedtnitz and Lola and Daryl Barnett; 4
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you to Jerry and Shirley Barnett; Al
(Berncil) and Dawn Conant; Ryan, Josh and Holli Tucker; and Denny and Jean
Wilkins for their loving support and kindness during Bob and Pat's times of
need.
A vigil service will be held Monday, September 8, 2014 at
7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Viewing will be at the church from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the
vigil. Funeral Services will be held
Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial
with military honors will follow at Morris Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the
Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
