Bonnie L. Johnston, 91, of Boise, died Saturday July 31, 2021 at Spring Creek Assisted Living facility. Bonnie was born to John William Nesbitt and Martha Ann (Beech) Nesbitt on January 21, 1930 in Goldberg, ID, near Challis. Bonnie attended the School for the Blind (Gooding, Idaho) and graduated from Meridian High School in 1948. She married William “Pete” Johnston on June 5, 1949. Bonnie and Pete raised four boys in Boise: Larry, Randy (Carolyn), Ric and David (Kristi). Bonnie worked 20 years for the Hewlett-Packard Company, assembly division. Bonnie had a love for music, she played and taught the piano and enjoyed listening to musical programs. In her free time, she practiced her faith, baked homemade bread, spent time with family, listened to Boise State football, and exercised daily. Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband (Pete) and son (Randy). She is survived by three sons, seven grandsons, two granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Having been born into one of the prominent pioneering families of Idaho, Bonnie always prided herself on being independent and always willing to lend a helping hand. In memory of Bonnie, please lend a hand to someone and pay-it-forward. At Bonnie’s request, no services will be held, cremation under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel & Cremation.
