Carolyn J. Price Schafer

Carolyn J. Price Schafer

Carolyn J. Price Schafer left us the morning of April 3, 2012, after a brief and unexpected illness.

She was born on October 31, 1945, to Garth D. and Donna J. Staley Price.  Carolyn grew up in Twin Falls and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1965.  She married Gene Schafer of Rupert in 1969.   Although they later divorced, they raised their only child in Rupert, where Carolyn had a career in banking.  Many people have fond memories of being greeted in the bank on the square by Carolyn and her beautiful smile, and of the many years Carolyn dressed up as a witch on Halloween to celebrate her birthday.  Carolyn eventually moved to Boise in 2007.  The reason for her move was two-fold:  to be able to take care of her aging parents and to be close to her beloved grandsons.

Carolyn left us far too soon, but her joy and her strength lives on in those she touched throughout her lifetime.  You don’t have to look any farther than the twinkle in her grandsons’ eyes to know she is still with us.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved father, Garth Price.

She leaves behind her loving mother, Donna J. Price of Boise; her sister, Michelle Easson of Arizona; her daughter, Nicole Schafer of Nampa; the true lights of her life, her grandsons Cole and Simon Pope of Nampa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  The family wishes to thank Dr. George and the amazing ICU staff of St. Al’s (especially Victor, RN) for the care they provided Carolyn and the dignity and grace with which they allowed her to live out her last hours.

We will celebrate Carolyn’s life at 4 pm on Monday, April 9th at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Ave.,  Boise.
