Charles B. (Charlie) Smith died on Dec. 10 at home due to
complications associated with CHF.
Charlie was born on March 24, 1953 to Edward W. and Irene F. Smith. Charlie lived his entire life in Boise,
Idaho.
Charlie married Amy Kunert on August 21, 1982. They had two sons, Aaron and Ryan who began
learning baseball about the time they could walk.
Charlie had a lifelong career in the floral industry. This began in junior high when his brother
got him a job running flowers up to the houses during holiday seasons. Later he delivered flowers and became a
floral designer. His career included all
aspects of the floral industry: retail,
wholesale, and nursery.
Charlie loved sports.
He was a fan of all high school sports, especially basketball and baseball. This began at an early age tagging along with
his dad to watch him referee a variety of sports all over Southern Idaho. Charlie was Mr. Dad, watching and coaching
Aaron and Ryan’s many sports activities.
Charlie’s love for baseball was appreciated by both players and their
parents. Charlie’s other love was
camping. His favorite was camping in the
San Juan Islands with his family.
Charlie is survived by his wife Amy, sons Aaron and Ryan,
brother Ed and wife
Sandy Smith, nieces Jennifer Smith
and Lindsey Sechler. His family would
like to express a special thank you to Dr. Axtell for the care he received
during the last two years.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., December 14
at the Alden Waggoner Funeral Chapel located at 5400 Fairview Ave.
