Charles (Chuck) LeRoy Wood, 79, of Boise, Idaho, died
Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at home of natural causes.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m.,
Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
Chuck was born on February 8, 1934 in Boise, Idaho
to Charles Edward Wood and Kathryn Clapsaddle Wood Lough. He grew up in Boise and Meridian and attended
Meridian High School. On August 30,
1963, Chuck was married to Lois Fay Dealy in Boise just celebrating their 50
th
Wedding Anniversary. Together they raised
their family in Boise.
Chuck worked in production with R.C. Cola, Pepsi, and
Coke. He also worked for American Cleaning Supply, and Hewlett-Packard,
retiring after 11 years with H-P.
Chuck was born to fish. He also enjoyed horse shoes, bowling and
fishing. Oh wait, did I mention
fishing?! He carried on Grandma Wood’s
legacy by teaching all of his kids and grandkids how to fish. That’s when he was the happiest, always
surrounded by family. When the weekends
would roll around, you would always find him at the card table with all the
ones he loved most, gathered around him.
He was a diehard BSU fan and he passed on the 24
th
, his
favorite Nascar drivers car number.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Wood; sons, Robert,
Christopher, and Steven Wood; daughters,
Tina Johns and Krystyl Myers, all of Boise;
also a son, David Thornton of Ohio and a daughter, Debra Hurley of
Michigan; numerous grandchildren, great
grandchildren and brothers and sisters and his dog, Tucker. He was preceded in death by Grandpa and
Grandma Wood, his father, Charles, mother, Kathryn, step-father, Loren Lough,
and brothers, Ed and DeWayne, and his favorite furry friend, Gizzy.
The family suggests that cards and flowers in their
name be sent to the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Avenue, Boise,
Idaho 83706.
