Charles Eugene Roper passed
away peacefully with his family by his side on March 23, 2012 at a local
hospital after a long illness. He was
born November 25, 1933 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Joseph and Vina Roper. Charles moved to Emmett, Idaho in 1953 where
he met the love of his life, Bonnie Holbrook.
They were married on October 30, 1954.
They moved to Boise in 1959 where he lived until his death. They had three children whom he loved very
much.
Charles’ passion was watching
his son play sports and later on his grandchildren. He worked at Guerdon Industries from 1959
until 1977 as a serviceman where he traveled as far as Alaska. Charles was injured on the job and was unable
to work after that.
He is survived by his loving
wife, Bonnie; his daughter, Jackie DeVries (Rich) of Twin Falls, Idaho; his son
Timothy Roper (Sha’rae) of Boise; two sisters Gladys Henson and Patsy Hensley
both of Texas; two brothers, Larry Dean Musick and Otto (Dona) Musick both of
Oklahoma; six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both his parents;
two sisters, Jueretta and Neoma; his daughter Sharlene Greenley.
Services will be at
Alden-Waggoner on Thursday, March 29, at 2:00 p.m. A viewing will also be held on Wednesday,
March 28
th
from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
