Cynthia Jean Mays, 71 was born on December 2, 1952 in Boise, Idaho to J’Dee and Rae Jean Sellars. She passed away peacefully with her family at her side on May 9, 2024.
Cindy grew up in Boise and truly lived life to the fullest, spending much of her time with family and friends laughing, joking, and creating memorable adventures together traveling and enjoying the outdoors. She loved all things tech and was continually interested in the how and why of the way things worked. Cindy’s talent for working with numbers led her to successful positions within Albertsons and Bank of America before retiring in June of 2006. Her fiercely independent spirit and unparallelled devotion to her family will forever be remembered and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Please feel free to share any stories you may have about times with Cindy in our guest book.
Cindy is survived by husband Marvin Mays, their son Christopher (Colleen) Sparkman and daughter Mitzi (Scott) Browning. Their grandchildren include: Amber (Tim), Shane (Cat), Madisyn (Michael), Gavin (Adriana), Grace (TBA), Zachary (Brooke) and Danika. Their great grandchildren include: Kalle, Brendan, Jenna and Matteo. Cindy’s siblings include sisters Tamera (John) Cantrell and Kaye (Jamey) Campbell, and brother Mike (DJ) Sellars. Beyond these, she is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother in 2016, father in 2017 and daughter Carrie Anne Pretti in 2019.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
