Coleene (Ploeger) Rekow passed away at the St. Luke’s

Center
in
Boise
on 16
November 2012. Friends may call at the Alden – Waggoner Funeral Home on Tuesday
November 20 from 5 to 8 pm. Interment will be at the
Lowman
Memorial
Cemetery
next summer with
a “Pie Social” to celebrate her life.
Coleene was born 29
March 1929 to John W. Ploeger and Ethel Voyce Ploeger at Burley,
Idaho
. She resided in the Burley area until age 16
when her family moved to Emmett, in 1947 she married Ivan E. Rekow. They had
four children; William Ivan, Dorothy Joyce, Charlotte Lynn, and Paul Robert.
They resided in Emmett, Lowman, Star and
Boise
over the years. Coleene and Ivan divorced in 1985.
She was a “Domestic Engineer” of the highest order. She
cared not only for her family but the families of those she worked for. She is best
known for her cooking, especially her huckleberry pies. She worked, taking care
of her clients, until 2011 when the last one passed away. She was a past member
of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by William of Lowman, Dorothy Isley of
Eugene
,
Oregon
, Charlotte
(
Gary
) Munyan
of Laurel, Montana and Paul (Cindy) of Lowman. She has eight grandchildren and
six great-grand children.
Her family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff
at St. Luke’s CCU for the excellent care they provide during her last days.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Idaho
Youth Ranch or the Lowman Volunteer Fire District, 8000 Hwy 21,
