Connie Larraine Lower was born on June 28, 1950 to Raymond and Lela Lower in Hailey, Idaho. Her brother, Ted, joined her 3 years later. When she was 6 years old the family moved to Boise where her youngest siblings, Peggy and Kelley, were born.
She had the spirit of an adventurer. She loved to travel and took many trips including a trip to Hawaii with her mother, Lela, and trips to Orlando and Washington D.C. with her sister, Peggy, and Peggy’s kids, Melissa and Andy. Her most treasured memories were traveling to the Holy Land several times, including Petra and Jerusalem. While there, she was able to ride camels which inspired a lifelong love of them.
Connie worked for the State of Idaho for 35 years. During that time she worked at the Transportation Dept, Health and Welfare and Aeronautics. She loved working for Aeronautics, especially when they took trips in a small Cessna to remote places around the state.
After her retirement in 2005, Connie spent most of her time taking care of her parents until her mother’s passing in 2017. They were lifelong members of the Followers of Christ church.
She was a hard worker as evidenced by her garden. She worked year round to create her own compost and get just the right soil mix to produce a bumper crop of tomatoes each year, which she loved sharing with family.
Connie loved babies and little kids and looked forward to birthdays and holidays when she got to spend time with all her nieces and nephews and eventually great nieces and nephews. She especially loved when her niece Tiffiny and great nephew Teagan would come help her pick her tomatoes.
During her last few months of life she was surrounded by family and made sure to tell them all how much she loved and appreciated them.
In her characteristic flair for the dramatic, Connie passed away on Halloween night.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lela, her brother, Kelley, and her great nephew, Talon. She is survived by her sister, Peggy (Steve) Bennett and her brother, Ted Lower, as well as her nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Melissa, Sharee, Andy, Tabitha, Tiffiny, Taylor and Mackenzie and many great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 7th at 3pm at Dry Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity.
