Dale Everett
Carpenter was born August 4, 1930 in Nampa, Idaho to Alfreda and Neil
Carpenter. He passed away May 6, 2012 at
home from natural causes. He was
preceded in death by his parents Neil and Alfreda Carpenter.
Dale was the second
of five children. He is survived by
sisters, Dolores (Dee) Lockey (and husband, George) in Green Valley, AZ and
Bonnie Dodge (and husband, Dan) in Eutopia, TX, and brothers, Vernon Carpenter
(and wife, Judy) in Nampa, ID and Terry Carpenter (and wife, Susie) in Rowlett,
TX.
Dale married the
only love of his life, Bertha Ellis on August 18, 1949. They had two daughters, Sue Carpenter and
DeAnn Slaughter (and husband, John).
Dale attended Nampa
High School and graduated with a G.E.D.
He then enrolled in Northwestern Theological Seminary. He served two years in military service with
the U.S. Army from 1952 – 1954, where he was a medical technician and was
discharged as a corporal.
Dale worked most of
his life in the meat industry, working at Walhin Rawlings, Holly Market,
Westside Grocery, Hansen’s Market, and Boise Valley Packing Company.
While continuing
with his own private custom meat cutting business, Dale worked 31 years for the
U.S. Postal Service, retiring as a “Logistics Coordinator” in 1992.
Dale was active in
church work, serving on the boards of both Capital Christian Center (Boise
Gospel Tabernacle) and Central Assembly Christian Life Center. Dale also worked with the Royal Rangers.
He was an avid
hunter and fisherman, enjoying outdoor recreation such as cross country skiing,
snowmobiling and ice skating. He loved
gardening, landscaping and leather craft work.
Dale made family vacations a priority each year.
Dale continued his
love for woodworking and building projects in retirement until Multiple
Sclerosis began to limit his physical abilities.
Dale played the
bass-violin in the Boise City Orchestra and in the church orchestra of the
Boise Gospel Tabernacle as well as singing in the “Kingsmen” quartet.
Dale was a certified
Christian Counselor.
Dale was a man of
principle, wisdom and understanding.
James 3:17 describes the attributes of Dale perfectly as a man of
wisdom, “Pure, Peaceable, Gentle, Willing to Yield, Full of Mercy and Good
Fruits, Without Partiality and Without Hypocrisy.” His life long commitment to Christ was at the
center of everything he did. Dale’s
faith was unwavering.

Funeral services
will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at Central Assembly Christian
Life Center. Committal services with
military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans
Cemetery. The family will greet friends
at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Thursday, May 10
th

p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
