Dale L.
Halsted, 67, of Boise, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013. A reception
celebrating his life will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013, at 1 pm, at the
Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. A graveside service with military honors will follow
at 3 p.m., at Dry Creek Cemetery.
Dale was
born on May 13, 1946, in Bonners Ferry, ID to James Millard Halsted and
Florence Mary (Cooper) Halsted. He graduated from Minidoka High and then
attended and graduated from Boise State University with a degree in
Horticulture. He married his soul mate, Stacia Breyen on Aug. 16, 1975 in
Boise. Dale worked for 30 yrs. at Boise Interagency Fire Center – now NIFC. He
then worked for 10 yrs. at the Albertson’s on Ustick. He enjoyed drawing and
fishing, and had a special interest in airplanes.
Dale is
survived by his wife, Stacia; daughter, Cherine Halsted and fiancé Ron
Schneider; son, Chris Halsted and wife Collyn, and soon expecting a
granddaughter, Paige Halsted in February; and 5 brothers and sisters. He was preceded
in death by his parents, and a sister Mildred Garcia.
The family
would like to thank Amberlane assisted living and all of Dale’s caregivers. Memorials
are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Idaho Humane Society.
