Darrell Earl Leatham 80, passed away January 15th in the arms of his beloved wife.
Darrell was born March 21, 1936 in Hagerman to Earl & Esther Leatham. He attended school in Hagerman and graduated with an architectural degree from Idaho State University in 1959. In 1963 at only 27 years old, he started his own business and his venture is still going strong as LKV Architects.
He was married Marian Graves for 23 years and at the time of his death he’d been married to Maria Fralina Razon for 13 years. She was his kind and beautiful sweetheart who fought so diligently to keep him with us as long as she could.
Darrell was truly brilliant and a very gifted artist and architect. He loved to build things – evident in the very cool array of out buildings and benches on his property, and he loved to grow things – evident in the vast amount of trees and plants on his property. He also had a fondness for chickens who he named after delighted friends and family. He was so incredibly funny! His nicknames and caricatures are legendary. He was also very kind and generous. He would always help anyone he could and he loved God with all his heart.
Darrell is survived by his wife Maria Fralina, sister DeAnn Hampton, daughter Dawn (David) Sanders, daughter Diane (Dan) Weston, son Joe (Melanie) Leatham, daughter Rachel (Matt) Walters, and step daughter Maria Anilarf (Marvin) Dimal. Grandchildren Clayton, Eli, Dove, Robin, Raven, Layla, Donna, and Sydney, and great grandson David. Nieces and nephews Mark, Teresa, Dan, Mike, Angela, and Lauren. He also leaves behind many dear friends including Bob Maxey, Patrick Cross, Ron Atkins, and Art Solis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David, his sister Donna, and his nephew Jeff.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 21st, 1:00 at Engage Boise, 270 E. Pennsylvania in Boise, (208) 336-1925.
In lieu of flowers, Dad would have wanted your kindness to go towards a charity that helps children. We suggest Send Hope sendhopenow.org and St. Judes.
