David was born on February 20, 1926
to Arthur Ray “Mike” Carroll and Martha Rueben in Boise, Idaho. He spent his
early years in the Treasure Valley and Owyhee County, Idaho. Following the
death of David’s mother Mike married June Brooks and together they raised their
son. A baby sister, Eileen, was born to
as they both put it to torment David.
Over the next 35 years David did
some travelling—including a once in a lifetime trip. He and his sister spent an
extended vacation in Ireland, Scotland, England and France—enjoying these parts
of the world. This was a trip he talked about the rest of his life.
David is preceded in death by his
parents, Mike and June, his wife Virginia and his sister Eileen. They are all
back together now.
David is survived by his son Kirk
Carroll and Kirk’s wife Sherri. Two grandchildren Ryan and Erin as well as two
great grandchildren Ethan and Emily Carroll.
David wanted to thank many people
and families that had been influential and supportive throughout his life. The
Ruben family, the Brooks family, the Foster family, the Moss family and the
Bancroft family. David wanted to note a special thanks to his foster
grandmother Ida A. Brooks who he called the most important person in his life.
A special thanks from David’s family to his childhood best friend and true
friend of the family, Steve Bancroft, David’s closest friend for 87 years.
