David Arthur McFaddan, 76, of Meridian, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at home of melanoma.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2001 at St. Michael’s Episcopal Cathedral. Inurnment will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. Reception following at Spurwing Country Club.
David was born in Boise, Idaho on March 20, 1935, to Henry H. and Edith Powell McFaddan. He grew up in Meridian and graduated from Meridian High School in 1953. David went on to attend Boise Jr. College and Oregon State University where in 1958 he received a B.S. degree in Education. He then attended Idaho State University where he received his Masters degree in Science.
On August 21, 1956 David married Maureen Louise Craig in Boise, Idaho. They made their home in Meridian, Idaho.
David was an administrator with the Boise School District for thirteen years and the Meridian School District for twenty-three years. He farmed in the Meridian area raising mint, sugar beets and seed crops.
Besides spending time with his family, David enjoyed golf. He was a member of the Lakeview and Terrace Lakes Golf Associations; Meridian Optimist; Nampa Elks (52 yrs.); and a former member of the Idaho Teachers Association and the Idaho Mint Growers.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen; children, Rose Chamberlain-Melitz (Peter), Craig McFaddan (Kym), Camille Vanscoy (Leonard), and Cameron McFaddan (Angela); grandchildren; Charlie Chamberlain, Jeff Melitz, Dustin and Stephanie Ebmeyer, Heather and Hannah Vanscoy, Presley and Ella McFaddan; great-grandchildren; Alexander Ebmeyer, Unique Vanscoy and Kenyon Vanscoy; sister, Myrna Ishida and sister-in-law, Irma McFaddan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Daniel McFaddan; son-in-law, Jeff Chamberlain and a grandson, Chase McFaddan.
