David Elmer Shaver

David E. Shaver, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and Christian man of God died on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at his home.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Margean Shaver; Parents, Harry and Emma Shaver; and siblings, John Mark, Paul, and Ester.

He is survived by 3 sons, Galen, Clyde, and Darrell; one granddaughter, Jessica; one great granddaughter, Issabela and brother Charles.

David graduated high school in Salmon Idaho and enlisted into the Army where he served in Korea. He was married on June 7, 1957. At Ruby’s passing in 2021 they had been married for 64 years. He spent his career thrashing grain n beans, as a logger, a volunteer fireman and drove propane truck. He worked for Idaho Power as a janitor and was also a bus driver.

His hobbies included going to the mountains, camping, ATVing and hunting. This brought him great joy and happiness. David enjoyed sports and played 8 man football (offense and defense) and basketball at Salmon High School. He would watch or listen to most any game but liked the Boise State Broncos and went many times to watch in person. David did number puzzles to stay sharp through the years. Gardening, reading and watching Ol’cowboy movies and shows rounded out his hobbies.

Church and his love for his Savior Jesus Christ guided him through his life. His church family only came second to his actual family.
