David passed away on
Wednesday, February 19, 2014 after a brave battle with brain cancer. He leaves
behind his wife of 40 years Paula, his two daughters, Rebecca (Dan) Knighton of
Fort Collins, Colorado and Jennifer Knighton of Los Angeles, California and a
grandson, Zachary Harker. David was born in Ely, NV but moved with his parents,
both now deceased,
Ruth Nollette
Knighton and Wayne Knighton to Boise, Idaho when he was two and was raised
there with his brothers, Larry Knighton and Dan (Cheryl) Knighton and his sister,
Pam (Randy)Haener.
All still
living.
He graduated
from Borah High in 1964, Attended Boise State Junior College for awhile then
joined the Marines Reserves then eventually returned to Boise State College and
finally graduated in 1979 from Boise State University with an accounting degree.
He has been an avid supporter of Boise State Football for many years.
He was hired
by Morrison Knudsen and worked for them through the Washington Group and URS
years for 35 years. He recently retired to Boise to be with his brothers and
many childhood friends. The love and support he received through the years and
especially these last three years from his brothers and sister, nieces and
nephews , friends he made at work,

friends, and neighbors has been amazing and wonderful.

be a viewing at Alden-Waggoner on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 4-6 and the
Services will be held at 1pm on March 3
rd
, 2014 also at Alden-Waggoner
followed by interment at Dry Creek Cemetery.
