Debra Diane Allen

Debra Diane Allen, 58 of Meridian, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, April 1, , 2015.  She was born October 15, 1958 in Boise, the daughter of Richard J. Allen and Jean Folmar Allen.

Debbie was raised in Boise attending elementary schools and South Jr. High until the family moved to Decatur, GA in 1970 where she graduated from Southwest Dekalb High School.  After graduation, she obtained a job at Wendy’s and since the family had moved back to Boise, she requested to transfer back home in 1978.  She worked over 36 years and worked her way up the ladder in several different positions to HR Manager.  She retired from Wendy’s approximately one year before her death.

Although she had no children of her own, she played an important role with raising her sister’s and brother’s sons, William Burch Jr. and Michael Allen.

Debbie was an avid Nascar and Boise State Bronco fan which she watched faithfully with her Bronco beads around her neck and pop corn in her lap.  She had recently joined the YMCA which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Debbie was looking forward to traveling with her mother Jean after her retirement, making many trips to Jackpot and the coast.  She loved retirement.

She had such a kind and loving heart.  She always found time to lend a helping hand to her family and friends.  Her laughter was contagious.  She will remain in our hearts and minds forever.
Debbie was survived by her mother Jean; nephews, William and Michael; sister-in-law, Linda Platt; and several other nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, brother Scott and sister Linda.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.  A reception will follow at the Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the West Family YMCA.
