Dee Conner was never afraid to face the toughest of life’s challenges. She enjoyed many accomplishments during her life and loved adventure.
She was one of the first five women ski patrollers at Bogus Basin to be admitted to the National Ski Patrol, an elite group. Dee was an avid tennis player, one mean scrabble opponent, and she loved to hike the mountains near Bear Valley. As a master gardener, Dee loved to share plants with family and friends. She loved her bridge club buddies, the women of the birthday club and had many beloved long-time friends.
Dee, 79, was the daughter of Wilford Del Wardle and Ula Velora Pugmire-Wardle and was raised in Rexburg, Idaho. Dee passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11 surrounded by her four children: Rick Waters, Jacque Waters, Camille Woodworth, and Sean Waters. She enjoyed the antics of 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Professionally, Dee was literally, a woman “ahead of her time.” She was the director of the Boise Brick program, whose success can be seen by anyone strolling through the Boise downtown Center on the Grove. She owned her own public relations firm, was formerly the director of community relations at St. Alphonsus hospital in Boise, and volunteered for United Way, March of Dimes, and the Jaycettes of Idaho.
Dee’s keen sense of wit was one of her trademarks. The day before she passed, she enjoyed a fine glass of wine and a toast with friends, remarking, “no better way to depart.”
