Delia LaHoma (Squier) Kozak, 90, of Boise, died on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in a local hospital. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 29, from 5-7 p.m. at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise. A graveside will follow on Saturday, January 30, at 11 a.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery.
Delia was born on September 27, 1925, in Brownell, Kansas, to Otis Leland Squier and Myrtle Manilla (Farr) Squier. She attended and graduated from High School in Brownell. Delia married Eugene Joseph Kozak on February 29, 1948 in Boise. Being a Navy family they lived in Tennessee, Florida, Hawaii, Alaska, California and Nevada. She worked for a time in the Seed Lab for the State of Idaho. Delia’s hobbies included ceramics and sewing. She was a member of the “Happy Hoofers”, and also enjoyed traveling, reading and gardening.
Delia was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Kozak, her parents Myrtle and Otis Squier; sister Gertrude Garrelts; and brothers, Martin Squier and Vanny Squier.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcella Kess; son, Blaine Kozak; granddaughters, Tiffany Moiola, Teresa Moiola (Chris Malloy); sister Marie Wolf (Jim Wolf); faithful companion, “Buttons”; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorials may be made in Delia’s name to the American Lung Association.
