Dolly, 98, born April 24, 1917 at Sandpoint, Idaho to Bruno and Sophie Hoffman Glaubitz, died on Thursday, March 17, 2016 in a Meridian Assisted Living Facility. A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 24, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Dry Creek Cemetery.
Raised in the Seattle area and in Seattle proper, Dolly moved to Eagle and finished High School in Eagle.
She married Frank Ray on April 28, 1934 and farmed on what was formerly Linder Rd, and then changed to Park Ln. They lived on the same property for 59 years. Frank died in December of 1974. In 1976 she married Walter Purdy and he died in 1981.
She loved to travel and met Harold Engberg in Arizona and they were married in 1983. Harold died in 2010.
Dolly was a member of Rebecca lodge of Eagle for 30 years. She belonged to Linder Extension Club and was a member of the Eagle Riding Club, and was a working mother at the Old Linder School. She loved and cared for her grandchildren. Loved to travel and sewing and crafts.
She is survived by son, Dell Ray and wife Betty; daughter, Carmen Fisher and husband Bill; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and 12 great greats.
