Dolores Jean Bush (Becvar) of Boise, passed away peacefully on September 21st, 2024. She was 95 years old. Dolores was born on February 14, 1929, in Chicago, IL of parents James and Mary Becvar. This date in history is noteworthy as the day of the infamous Chicago’s “St. Valentines Day Massacre” which took place in North Chicago, only a few miles away. Dolores attended Lindblom Technical High School; class of 1947. Following high school, she studied and worked as a certified hospital Laboratory Technician. She applied for a summer job in 1955 as a Lab Tech at the Sun Valley, ID hospital where she met her husband of 40 years, Robert Bush of Twin Falls, ID. Following their wedding that same year, Dolores and Robert moved to Boise and had their two sons: Jeffery and Gregory. Dolores grew fond of sporting activities such as skiing, fishing, and camping in all of Idaho’s beautiful outdoors. After her husband Robert established a private architectural practice, she worked as office administrator, specification manager, and finance bookkeeper.
Following retirement, Dolores and Robert were active members of the Airstream “Wally Byam Caravan Club International” attending many rallies throughout the United States and Canada. Following the passing of Robert in 1995 - the love of her life, Dolores took up square dancing and became an active and long-standing member of Boise’s “Capital Squares – Square Dance Club.” She then purchased an Airstream motor home and continued adventure travel and rally events with the Wally Byam club. Dolores was a loving wife and fiercely protective mother who loved all her family and instilled the values and aspirations of the “Greatest Generation.” Dolores is survived by her son Jeffery and wife Nancy, Gregory and wife Lisa, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. A graveside ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 4th at Dry Creek Cemetery (old section).
