Don Greg Stivers, 57, of
Boise, Idaho, after a courageous battle with a Glioblastoma Brain Tumor, passed
away peacefully on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, surrounded by family and
friends. We have comfort in knowing Don
is with the Lord and his suffering is over.
Don was born on September 9,
1955 in Boise, Idaho to George W. Stivers and Luella (Robison) Stivers. Don attended Boise State University and
joined the United States Navy, serving on the USS Cunningham. While in the Navy he received electronics
training in weaponry and radar. After
his military service he worked as an Electronics Technician for the National
Interagency Fire Center.
On November 6, 2010, Don
married Teresa Flesch in Boise, Idaho.
Don was an artist, movie
buff, a standup comedian and an actor.
He enjoyed photography, fishing and target practicing. Favorite memories include a Hawaiian cruise
and helicopter rides taken in January of this year with his wife Teresa.
He was a member of Mensa and
a Science Fiction Club.
Survivors include his wife,
Teresa Flesch Stivers, the love of his life;
siblings, Gary and Linda Stivers, Jim and Callae Stivers, and Toni and
Rick Smith; a cousin Katie (Randy) Limani;
step-children, Sarah (Kent) Bowman, Casimir (Brianna) Sowinski and Paul
Sowinski; grandchildren; special friends,
Victor Salazar and Garth Sickles; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jeffrey Scott Eytchison.
Don was a very kind
considerate man and was always helping someone in need. Although Don suffered a serious motorcycle
accident in 1986 and had numerous health problems - - it never broke his spirit
and he lived life to the fullest. He
will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be
held 3:00 p.m, Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 4848 N.
Five Mile Rd., Boise ID 83713.
