Donald Kunkel, a wonderful father, grandfather, Great Papa, passed away on September 22, 2021 at the age of 89 in Newberg, Oregon.
He was a graduate of Houghton College in New York state, with a religious studies degree. Donald served during the Korean War with the Air Force and was stationed in Japan. He and his wife Kathryn (deceased 2017), worked with Village Missions. Donald was a pastor and intermountain region representative for 50 years.
During his retirement, he spent several years as a pastor for "The Light of the Cross" fellowship in Boise, Idaho.
Dad had 60 wonderful years with the love of his life, Kathryn. Shortly after her death, he relocated to Oregon to be near family.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jon.
Survivors include son Don and his wife Michele, two grandchildren Darcy and his wife Alicia and Maryl and her husband Ryan, and 4 great grands Melody, Charlotte, Evan and Riley.
He has left a legacy of love and passion for his work and family.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 10 2022 at Dry Creek Cemetery.
