Doris E.
(Walton) Cooke, 93, formerly of Fairfield and Boise, passed away on Sunday,
January 29, 2012, at her home in Nampa, with her family present.
Doris
graduated from Fairfield High School at the age of 16. In 1940, Doris married
Frank B. Cooke of Rupert, Idaho. The Cookes resided and farmed at Fairfield a
number of years, raising four children, Dorothy Harrop, F. Gordon Cooke, Sharon
Hall and Charles (Chuck) Cooke. Doris retired from Ada County Sheriff’s office
in 1983.
She is
survived by her children; eight grandchildren, Patrick Harrop, Tim Cooke,
Dianna Pategas, Rodney Hall, Randy Hall, Zachary Cooke, Jennifer Cooke, and
Heather Cooke; and seven great-grandchildren.
Doris was
preceded in death by her husband, Frank, brother, Fred Walton, and sisters,
Lora Reimer and Nyda Clutter.
Funeral
services will be held at 2:00 p.m. today, Thursday, February 2, 2012, at
Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Ave, Boise. A private burial will
be held at Dry Creek Cemetery.
