Our Loving Mother passed away in her home holding the hand of
her husband on Monday, July 27, 2014. Dorothy was the wife of Melvin N
Robertson for 63 years and together they made their home and raised their
children on their farm in Kuna, Id. Dorothy was Born to Forest and Marie
Thacker on April 6, 1933 in Bridgeport, Nebraska. The family moved to Idaho
when she was 3, where she attended Caldwell and Nampa schools, graduating from
Lone Tree School in Nampa, Idaho.
Dorothy meet her husband while he was home on leave from the
Army and 2 years later they were married in the Baptist church in Kuna Idaho.
Dorothy was a hard working Farm Wife and devoted mother who raised 2 children;
Sherry Kistner and Wayne Robertson, both living in Kuna. Dorothy was an avid
seamstress and a great supporter of the Arts. Summers were spent teaching her
grandchildren her expertise in painting and a love for nature. An amazing cook;
she will be missed for her home made noodles, baked beans and divinity candy.
Always up for an adventure with her daughter Sherry and granddaughter Lauren,
Dorothy was a fun loving fire cracker, quick with wit and dedicated to her
family. She loved to travel and explore even if it was just a day ride to the next
town over. Each and every year was filled with art shows, camping trips,
catching fish, mushroom hunting, and huckleberry picking with her family. Easy
with a smile, Dorothy never met a stranger she couldn’t tease. Her greatest
love and enjoyment were her 2 granddaughters and her 2 great grandchildren.
