Dorothy Marie
(Logan) Fender Gray went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on
January 1, 2012. She was born October 1,
1928 in Muncie, Indiana to Robert James and Frances Elizabeth Logan.
After high school
she married Hansel Lynn Fender. They
resided in Indiana until 1949 at which time they moved to Parker, Arizona where
they owned/operated the Blue Water Trailer Court located on the Colorado River. In 1966 they moved to Caldwell, Idaho.
Dorothy attended the
College of Idaho from 1968 to 1972. She
graduated Cum Laude with two majors.
After graduating she went to work for First Security Bank and became the
first woman in the bank’s management training program and eventually became a
Vice-President, retiring in 1987. She
was a successful director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, and belonged to the American
Association of University Women and other organizations. She was an active member of the University
Christian Church where she served as treasurer and sang in the sanctuary
choir. She also held a private pilot’s
license and loved to travel.
Hansel passed away
in 1983. In 1988 Dorothy married Elden
E. Gray and enjoyed the blending of their families. She continued to reside in Boise, Idaho until
her final move to heaven.
Those blessed to
have shared her life are her husband, Elden E. Gray; family, Constance (Gary) Andersen of Wright,
WY, Shelly (Michael) Colson of Grand Junction, CO, Kimberly (Bill) Bruneel of
Stockton, CA and Elden C. (Barbara) Gray of Boise, ID; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A celebration of
Dorothy’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012 at
University Christian Church. Services
are under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
