Earl Eugene Paige
Earl Eugene Paige, 85, of Meridian, died
Saturday, June 29, 2013 at home of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m.
Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. A viewing will be held prior to the service
from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Burial with
military honors will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
Earl was born January 1, 1928, in
Pocatello, Idaho, the son of Howard Paige and Lillian Bier Paige. He grew up in Pocatello and graduated from
Pocatello High School, military technical schools and Idaho State University in
Engineering. Earl served in the Marine
Corps during WWII. On September 18,
1955, Earl married Rhea Hansen at Central Christian Church in Pocatello,
ID. They resided in various places in
Idaho including Pocatello, Salmon, Hailey, Boise and Meridian.
Earl worked for the Union Pacific
Railroad and served in management with Idaho Power Company. He enjoyed golf, bowling, swimming, skiing,
hunting, fishing, guitar, piano and good conversation. He also was very involved in church
activities, especially choir
.
Earl was a member of University
Christian Church and Rotary International.
Survivors include his wife, Rhea Paige,
Meridian; children, Greg Paige (Karla), Salt Lake City, UT and Alison Bear,
(David), Boise, ID; grandchildren, Ryan Bear,
Zach Paige and Jordan Bear; and his sister, Dorothy Scherbal.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and siblings, Louise Hatch, Delores Freckleton, Norma Bauer, and Harold Paige.
