Edna Todd, 71, of Boise, went to be with her heavenly father on March 23, 2011 after a long battle of Dementia.
Edna was born April 27, 1939 to William and Darlene Schatto Johns in Twin Falls, ID.
Her family moved to Barstow, CA. before moving to Boise in 1953. She graduated from Boise High School before meeting the love of her life at the Hotel Owyhee. Edna was the head banquet girl, and Virgil was a bellman. Virgil and Edna married July 21, 1958 at Calvary First Assembly of God in Boise.
Virgil and Edna pastored Glenns Ferry Assembly of God Church, before moving to Meridian to pastor Meridian Assembly Of God Church. After retiring from the ministry, Edna managed rental apartments and later went to work with Virgil again as an automobile detailer.
Edna was a very loving, caring, Christian woman. She always had a gospel song in her heart, and loved to sing. Edna and Virgil spent many weekends going to car shows. Edna (AKA -Sissy) in her T-bird, and Virgil in his 1958 Bonnevilles, just loved showing and shining! She loved spending time with her family and cooking. Then in 2003 the children and grandchildren surprised her with a toy poodle. Sassy became her rock, especially after losing her husband and youngest son Rick (both in 2009).
After a year of living with her children, she relocated to Spring Creek Assisted Living until her passing. Her family would like to thank everyone at Spring Creek Assisted Living, and Harrison’s Hope Hospice for all the love and care they gave to her these last few months.
Edna is survived by her daughter Tina Schneider (Larry) of Meridian; son Dan (Roxanna) of Boise; sister Marcia Forbus (Jim) of Boise, and brother Larry Johns (Ruby) of Independence, MO; grandchildren Jeff Schneider (Nikki), Jenny Zieglmeier (Chris), Jeff Lund (Tiffany), Brad (Tarra), Brandee, Ryan, and Joel Todd of Boise; great-grandchildren Elyse, Camryn, Carson, Tristin, and Emmalee; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and her best friend, Sassy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Virgil, son Rick, and her parents.
A viewing will be held on Friday March 25, 2011 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Avenue. Funeral Services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday March 26th at Central Assembly Of God Church, 12000 Fairview, Boise ID, officiated by Pastor Ted Buck. Burial will follow at Morris Hill Cemetery.
Here on Earth we have lost a wonderful lady, but heaven is rejoicing. We will always love you, and miss your beautiful smile and great sense of humor.
