Edward W. “Ed” Heavin, 87, of Middleton, ID, died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at home of natural causes.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Dry Creek Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, (today) at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
Ed was born on August 21, 1928 in Cement, Oklahoma to Flora Mae Jackson and Ivan Heavin. He grew up in Oklahoma and received his education there. It was in Oklahoma that he met and Mary Ann Cates and they were married in 1951. Ed went into the Army in 1946 where he served his country honorably until his discharge in 1952. Following his discharge the family decided to move out west, heading for Washington. They stopped in Idaho to visit family and decided to make Idaho their home. Ed worked in construction for many years and even after retiring continued to work on many projects with his sons.
Ed had a “Farmers Heart” and loved raising cattle on the acreage that he called home.
Survivors include his children, Edward Leon Heavin, Marilynn Robertson, and David Wayne Heavin; grandchildren, Jason Robertson, Justin Robertson, Sierra Hunter, Eric Heavin, Jessica Heavin, Alisha Heavin, and Nichole Heavin; great grandchildren, Harper Robertson, Quincy Hunter and Anaya Hunter; and his former wife, Mary Ann who he was married to for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, James Lee Heavin in 2003, and sisters, Betty L. Matlock and Geraldine Lemon.
