Elaine (Babe) Jordan Stephenson, 78, of Boise, formerly of
Weiser, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother
,
sister
and dear friend passed away Feb. 1, 2014 at Life Care at Valley View.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 at the
Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Ave., Boise, Idaho.
Elaine was born April 4, 1935 in Lewis, Colorado, a daughter of
Everett and Erma Jordan. She moved to Weiser, Idaho with her family in
September 1935, where she grew up
.
Elaine
went to Sunny Slope Grade School and to Weiser High School. The summer after
graduation, she moved to Boise to attend Ex Celci's Beauty School and graduated
in 1954. She worked at Falk's ID Salon in Boise for 5 years. This is when she
met her best friend Shirley, a lifelong friendship Elaine cherished.
She married the love of her life
,
Marion
Stephenson on Nov. 30, 1957. Together they had a son, Doug, and a daughter
,
Kelli.
After staying home for a few years to raise her children
,
Elaine
went back to work. She worked at Angela's Beauty Salon for 30 years until she
retired
.
Elaine and Marion went on man
y
camping
trips together with their children
,
and
many times their trips included her parents. Their travels took them to Canada,
the Coast in Washington and Oregon, Utah, Montana, Yellowstone National Park, and
Glacier National Park, plus many trips
to Jackpot, Nevada for some fun at the gambling machine.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 46
years
Elaine is survived by her bro

Jim (Leona) Jordan, her two children Doug (Cathy) Stephenson, and Kelli
Stephenson (Wayne Cavier); her 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Valley View Life
Care for the patience and care they gave to Elaine.
