March 10, 1924 – May 20, 2011
Elizabeth was born in Twin Falls, Idaho to Stanley and Edith Webber. She was born during the depression, but was not affected by it, and speaks fondly of her childhood. She had one sister, Janice Osborn, Boise ID. When she graduated from high school she graduated from Albion College and later joined the Waves to serve in World War II. She served there in a clerical position. After the war she moved to Boise and worked for Boise Cascade, where she met her first husband, Frank Boulan. She and Frank had three children, Penny, Francine and Bruce.
Beth was a wonderful, hard working mother who loved her children and even though she worked outside of the home, always had time to attend their school events. She especially loved sports, and would cheer loudly for her team and her children.
In 1967 she and Frank were divorced. In 1968, she met Stephen Bancroft through a mutual friend whom they worked with. She must have known this was the love of her life, as she danced around the house like a child before their first date. She and Steve were married on April 26, 1969. When Beth and Steve retired, they became trailer travelers and traveled around the United States, visiting all states in the mainland including Alaska. They met many wonderful friends and had many cherished memories.
Beth had a strong foundation of faith in the Lord, which was passed on from generation to generation, beginning in the United States with one of our founding Pilgrims, William Brewster. She was at one time a deacon in the Presbyterian Church, and when she was later unable to attend, she looked forward to being served communion at home. Her faith in the Lord helped her to deal with the loss of her oldest daughter, Penny, in May of 1999. This was the deepest sorrow that she lived with, but hopefully they are once again together for eternity.
Mom loved her Boise Broncos, and would tell people that she “bled blue”. She had three close friends that we called the “Ya Ya Sisters”, who met regularly for birthdays or just coffee, who I know will greatly miss her, along with so many others
Beth is survived by her loving husband, Steve; two children, Francine (Ed) Cervantez, Chino Hills Ca., Bruce (Paula) Boulan, Boise, Id; two step-children, Lynne (Carl) Maestas, Meridian, Id, Mark (Bev) Bancroft, Escondido, Ca; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; her sister Janice; and many, many wonderful friends, too many to count.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful people at the Idaho State Veterans Home, as they took such wonderful care of her, and became part of our family.
Every life she touched has been blessed with her sweet nature and her beautiful smile. She is so loved, but now we must celebrate that she has gone on to be with our Lord where there is no pain and no tears.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 23, at the Southminster Presbyterian Church, 6500 Overland Rd., Boise.
